Why is water important?

This half term we are exploring water and how important it is for us and our planet.

6th June 2023

This week we are asking "Why is water important?" and thinking about how we use water in our homes.

 

We will be talking about water and making a list of all the ways we use water in our homes. We will be exploring bubbles and soaps and washing clothes. We will be learning that the way we use water in our homes has changed through time and comparing old ways of washing clothes with modern ways.

This week we are learning about different bodies of water.

 

We will be asking:

What are Oceans, Seas, Lakes, and Ponds?

What is a stream?

What is a lake?

In "The Journey"

Why did the water go slowly? 

What happened to the water in the town?  Why?

This week we are asking "What is a beach?" and thinking about how we can stay safe on the beach and what we might see and do at the beach.

This week is all about Uganda.  We are thinking about how things tare the same or different in Uganda and in England.  We are finding out about Mrs Squires visit to Uganda and looking at some artefacts from roral life in Uganda.
